Who am I?

Since you are on the domain https://petr-radous.cz, you were probably looking for me :).

My name is Petr Radouš and I wear many hats. The most important ones are father, partner and developer.

I'm self-taught - everything I know I learned on my own from documentation and practice. I worked my way from manufacturing through IT administration to full-time development. I enjoy solving problems and making people's lives easier.

A developer? So what do I actually do?

Since 2019 I've been fully dedicated to building web applications. In that time I have over 7 years of experience and dozens of projects under my belt - from internal company systems to AI contact centres.

I build custom web applications, tailored exactly to your needs.

Why web? Because they're available from anywhere (if you want them to be). PC / mobile / tablet / fridge - anything that can display a website.

Lately I've been focusing a lot on AI integration - chatbots that handle most enquiries without human intervention, knowledge base integrations, automated complaint processing and seamless handover to a live operator when needed.

But I'll just build the site myself for free!

These days, anyone can build a static website (or even a CMS site) for free using ready-made tools.

But building something that will make your private or work life easier every day - that's not so much fun.

Let alone when the application I build for you takes care of the smooth running of your business.

What do I have under my belt?

I've worked my way from IT administration through server management to full-time development. I've worked at ESET, INSIA, eMan, Juicymo and JARABOT - first as an employee, since 2020 as a freelancer.

What have I worked on?

  • AI contact centre - omnichannel chatbot resolving 70 % of conversations without human intervention, multi-model AI support, knowledge base, automated complaints
  • client contracting - contract management, versioning with audit trail, inline change comparison, electronic PDF signing
  • logistics software - parcel reception and dispatch, tracking, age verification, cash-on-delivery and money flow
  • document processing - PDF generation, dynamic forms, ODT templates
  • integrations with external systems - Kafka, RUIAN, Elasticsearch, APIs for mobile apps, reservation systems
  • infrastructure and deployment - Docker, Kamal, CI/CD, automated backups, managing my own VPS servers

There's really a lot of it, and if I were to list everything here, I'd spend the rest of my youth doing it.

I'm not afraid of any challenge and every problem has a solution!

What's it all built on?

I won't just build the application for you - I'll also take care of it. I manage my own servers, hosting, backups and deployment. The whole package from A to Z.

What's it all built on?

  • Ruby on Rails - my main tool, used for building most applications
  • Vue.js, React, Hotwire - frontend depending on what the project requires
  • PostgreSQL, Redis, Sidekiq - databases, cache and asynchronous processing
  • Typesense, Elasticsearch - full-text search and knowledge bases
  • Kafka - messaging between systems
  • Docker and Kamal - containerisation and one-command deploys
  • Linux and VPS - my own server management, automated backups, monitoring
  • AI integration - chatbots, multiple language models (GPT, Gemini), knowledge bases

I currently manage several of my own VPS servers and a home NAS. I know what running an application in production entails - backups, monitoring, security.

To sum it up - I'll build you an application, deploy it to a server and make sure it runs smoothly.

Why me?

I'm a self-taught developer who got into programming through IT administration and server management. Thanks to that, I understand the whole process - from server through backend to what the user sees.

  • One person, the whole project - you don't have to deal with communication between teams; I cover backend, frontend, infrastructure and deployment
  • Direct contact - no middleman, you talk directly to the person who builds it
  • Reliability - when I commit to a deadline, I keep it
  • Own ideas - I don't just "bash code" to spec, I actively think about what's best for your project

I have experience both from working in teams and leading projects on my own. On one project I carried the development single-handedly for several months, when there were originally three of us on it.

AI and automation

AI isn't just a buzzword - I work with it actively every day. Both in development and in the products I build.

What can I do with AI?

  • Chatbots for customer support - handling most enquiries without human intervention, with smooth handover to an operator
  • Knowledge base integration - the chatbot answers based on your data, not generic phrases
  • Process automation - for example complaint handling with final operator review
  • Multi-model AI support - Gemini, GPT and others, depending on project needs
  • AI as a development tool - I use AI for planning, writing code and tests, all under manual review

I'm currently co-developing an omnichannel AI contact centre where the chatbot handles 70 % of conversations without human intervention.

Did I catch your interest? Great!

Let's start working together ;-).
Drop me a line and we'll arrange an online meeting (video call).

  • You'll tell me what you do or what you'd like to do (your business idea).
  • Based on our meeting (or several, as needed), I'll put together how the application could look and what it should do to meet your requirements.
  • Then I'll tell you how long it will take me and how much it will cost.
  • If everything's ok with you, I'll get straight to work.

That's nice, but what about copyright?

Quite simply!

The application is yours and you can do whatever you want with it.

If you want, I can host it for you for a small fee (i.e. set it up and keep it running).

If not, you can host it yourself or have someone else do it.

What about extensions? What if I want to change or add something?

Our cooperation doesn't have to end after the application is handed over. If you want, the second part begins, where we can add further features as needed.

It often happens that during use you realise something is missing. Or something neither of us thought of at the start comes up and now it would be nice to have. Or some rule / law changes and a change is needed.

We'll handle these changes through individual orders, deliveries and invoices. I bill hourly, based on the time I spend on it.

And what about warranty?

If a bug appears in the application within 6 months of handover I'll of course fix it for free .

If you report a bug to me after this period, it's no longer a warranty claim but a change request and that's billed hourly.
